Tantra Yoga, Tantric Sex, or Viagra

By Paul Jerard

Here’s a natural Yoga solution for a “pill popping culture” that does not take side-effects seriously, until they feel them, or worse. Male impotency has become a marketing Bonanza. Pharmaceutical companies are cashing in on middle-aged males. Even if you are not a male who is middle-aged, or older, your Spam folder is most likely full of “junk advertisements” for Viagra, Cialis, or Levitra.

This means there is a huge market of middle-aged men who could use a copy of the Kama Sutra and should learn some natural solutions from a qualified Tantra Yoga teacher. Tantra Yoga does not have a long list of side-effects, so there is much less, if any, risk. This might be expecting too much because this is pro-active behavior for better health.

Some men are taking these drugs and they do not even need to; it has become a strange “fashion statement.” What usually happens is a quick solution is mentioned by a Viagra commercial during a football game. Ever notice the simplest solutions are not really in the form of a pill? Half of the time consumed, in a typical Viagra commercial, is spent talking about the side-effects of taking the drug. The same can be said for Viagra’s cousins: Levitra and Cialis. Continue reading »

Whatever the historical details, Krishnamacharya has become the undisputed father of modern-day hatha yoga. Krishnamacharya's first lessons in yoga were from his father and his grandmother and passed on through generations of practice. Continue reading »

Raja Yoga - Simple Spirit of Psychology

By Sally Janssen

It is important for the human psyche to have a concept or perceptions of our origin and our ultimate life destination. This motivates the study of psychology.

What is missing in the more material purposes of western psychology, are the components of the soul and spirit of a human being. Yet the spiritual life purpose is as important as a material one. It is a Truth to be sought and remains one of the main focal points for Vedic scholars and philosophers as for the genuine seeker for understanding of human being.

Although Indian scholars of Vedic lore will be capable of more profound discussions of psychology and analyses of human nature, most of us wish to use the tenets of Raja Yoga philosophy and teachings to help us towards the spiritual goal by relying upon the three simplest definitions of the psyche as an adjunct to what is already known to us through western psychology.

Consideration of these components serves to guide us through the labyrinth of information about the human mind and personality to illumine a clear path towards a higher destination. This spiritual path or Marga is known and highly regarded as that of kingly purpose in discovering life's truth, hence its name Raja Yoga. However, it is a royal status that must be earned. Karma Yoga - An Introduction

By Sacha Tarkovsky

Karma Yoga, or the "discipline of action" is based on the teachings of the Sri Krishna in the Bhagavad-Gita, the holiest of Hindu scriptures. As one of the four pillars of yoga, Karma yoga requires the adherence to one’s duty (swadarma) while remaining detached from the reward. Simply, It is the yoga of performance of “right action”.

What is right action?

You might glance over the Sermon the Mount, as Jesus was very specific on what He considered ‘right action’. He mentions not to kill, or even speak badly about another. He mentions about sexual fidelity, and even not to think about it (as having the same result as committing it).

He says what is correct for marriage, for the saying of oaths, for not seeking revenge, for what do to do please God, and how to pray correctly. He says how to fast, how to think, not to worry (about the material life), not to judge others, and how to remain steadfast. All of these are principles of Karma Yoga.

So how can I practice Karma Yoga in my daily life? Continue reading »
